The St. Charles West Band Booster Club is a registered 501(c)(3) organization. Your donations are tax-deductible. You can make a donation online using Google Checkout just to your right.
The school district provides a budget for salaries, uniforms, bus transportation, and purchase and maintenance on a small number of instruments. Parents spend thousands more themselves on instruments, accessories, maintenance, and private instruction. To raise the additional funding needed for a quality program, the Band Boosters (mostly parents) volunteer at a concession stand at Verizon Amphitheatre, hold BBQs, and organize numerous annual fundraisers including Craft Fair, Trivia Night, and Golf Tournament. But the gap between what the band needs and what we can raise keeps growing ...

The difference is you, our sponsors. Community support is vital to the health of the program. There is an immediate need for new instruments and music. Quality instruments are expensive, often costing several thousand dollars each. Additional funding would allow us to offer more opportunities for students to interact directly with and learn from professional musicians and clinicians.

Your support is more important than ever this year because the Marching Warriors have been invited to perform at the Konica Minolta Gator Bowl in Jacksonville, Florida. The trip is a special honor for our students to represent our community of St. Charles on a national stage, broaden their horizons beyond the beautiful hills of Missouri, and reinvigorate their love and passion for the arts. Only with the generous contributions of individuals and local businesses will it be possible to offer this unique experience to all our students.

We are deeply grateful for whatever gift you are able to make to the program. There is no amount too large or too small because, whatever the size, the gift you give becomes the gift of music. Please review below the ways in which we are able to show our appreciation (click on Sponsorship Levels) and then select the level which you are able to afford. If you wish, you can make your tax-deductible gift online using Google Checkout on the right hand side of this page.
Involvement in band has benefits for students far beyond learning to play an instrument or march in a half-time show. Here are but a few:

Middle school and high school students who participated in instrumental music scored significantly higher than their non-band peers in standardized tests. Studies found significant correlations between the number of years of instrumental music instruction and academic achievement in math, science and language arts.

College-age musicians are emotionally healthier than their non-musician counterparts. A University of Texas study looked at 362 students in their first semester of college. In addition to having fewer battles with the bottle, researchers also noted that the college-aged music students seemed to have surer footing when facing tests.

In a 1999 Columbia University study, students in the arts are found to be more cooperative with teachers and peers, more self-confident, and better able to express their ideas. These benefits exist across socioeconomic levels.

College admissions officers cite participation in music as an important factor in making admissions decisions. They claim that a student’s participation in music demonstrates time management, creativity, expression, and open-mindedness.
Carl Hartman, "Arts May Improve Students’ Grades," The Associated Press, October, 1999

Arts Education aids students in skills needed in the workplace: flexibility, the ability to solve problems and communicate; the ability to learn new skills, to be creative and innovative, and to strive for excellence.
