2009 Gator Bowl Congratulations PDF Print E-mail
Written by Jim Cakalic
Wednesday, 07 January 2009 16:43
What a week! The hard work of our Marching Warriors paid off in Jacksonville as they brought their parade and field show to the 2009 Gator Bowl. The band took first place in their class in the parade competition and won best marching, best music, and best general effect captions. They were one of only four bands to compete in the field show competition and swept all awards in their class. Even more importantly, our students had a lot of fun, put on their best field show of the year, and took part in an educational experience that they'll treasure for years to come. What a way to cap the marching season!

I'm sure we're all very proud of our students and instructors and recognize the effort that went into this success. The long hours of individual and group practice in all sorts of weather. The continuous refinement of parade technique and field show. The financial sacrifices made by many families as well as the fundraising by everyone. We all have reason to be proud of whatever role we played in supporting this experience. And reason to be proud of "our band" and their success. Yay Band!!!

Band Camp 2008 PDF Print E-mail

Another band camp has come and gone. Despite the rainy weather, the band was able to accomplish much, setting drill for the first two movements of this year's still untitled show. The students seems to be enjoying both the music and the drill. And the parents are definitely enjoying seeing their kids make rapid progress towards another exciting season.
